A portrait of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar kept inside a small roadside memorial at Thimmarajapuram here was found to have been set afire on Sunday.. Local residents staged a road blockade on Seevalaperi Road, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible for damaging the portrait and memorial. Police officials held talks with the protestors and assured them of appropriate action.
