The jallikattu organised at South Irungalur village in the district left 64 persons injured on Sunday. As many as 712 bulls were released during the event with the number of participating tamers being 400. The police said 12 among the injured were referred to a private hospital while the remaining 54 injured persons were treated as out-patients at the event venue. Two bulls were injured during the event, said police sources.
