The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) has procured 1,09,777 tonnes of paddy so far in the Mayiladuthurai region during the ongoing Kuruvai Marketing Season (KMS) 2025–26 samba crop. According to official sources, paddy has been cultivated on 68,640 hectares in Mayiladuthurai district this season, and procurement of about 2.52 lakh tonnes is expected through direct purchase centres. With the approval of the District Collector H.S. Srikanth, 184 Direct Procurement Centres (DPCs) have been opened across the district to facilitate farmers.
