The survivor in the first sexual assault case in which Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil is an accused has filed a complaint on Sunday against YouTuber Rahul Easwar, alleging that he violated bail conditions and created circumstances for further cyber harassment. The complaint has been submitted to the special investigation team probing the case against the legislator. Mr. Easwar, an accused in a separate case related to allegedly insulting the survivor, was recently granted bail under strict conditions including a directive not to defame or harass the survivor. According to the complaint, the YouTuber’s actions after he was released on bail facilitated fresh cyber attacks against the survivor. The latest complaint is based on remarks made by Mr. Easwar following public statements made by the survivor’s husband in connection with the case against Mr. Mamkootathil. In a Facebook post, Mr. Easwar reportedly claimed that the survivor’s husband was the ‘real victim,’ while describing the survivor as a false complainant. He also raised questions about the survivor’s marital status and alleged inconsistencies in her claims. In her complaint, the survivor alleges that these statements amount to harassment and defamation in violation of the bail conditions imposed by the court.
