Through the 1,256 camps organised by the Health Department under the “Nalam Kaakkum Stalin” (NKS) scheme, more than seven lakh individuals were identified and referred for treatment for various health conditions, and are now under medical care. This included 222 persons with cancer, 1,626 with heart diseases, and 1,50,708 individuals newly diagnosed with diabetes and 4,28,454 with hypertension. Health Minister Ma. Subramanian said that under NKS 1,256 camps were completed, benefitting 18,52,561 persons. A total of 17 types of medical services were provided.
