In a major drive to sensitise the public against the growing threat of waste pollution, the Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP) has launched the ‘Clean Kerala Anthem’. Minister for Education V. Sivankutty officially released the anthem and video at a ceremony held at the Nishagandhi Auditorium here on Saturday (February 28, 2026).

The ‘Clean Kerala Anthem’ is envisioned as a musical catalyst to usher in a new culture of cleanliness across the State.

Designed to resonate with all age groups, particularly the youth, the video blends high-energy dance sequences with a modern hip-hop and rap rhythm. The anthem revolves around the powerful and evocative slogan: “My Waste, My Responsibility; My Kerala, My Pride.”

The song aims to bring about a behavioural shift by highlighting that dumping waste in public spaces is a matter of social shame. Instead, it promotes a new ‘trend’ for the modern Keralites:systematic segregation of plastic and organic waste at the source, followed by its prompt transfer to the Haritha Karma Sena (Green Task Force).

The launch comes at a crucial juncture as KSWMP scales up its efforts to establish state-of-the-art waste treatment plants and modern processing systems across Kerala. The anthem serves as a reminder that while the government provides the infrastructure, the ultimate success of these projects depends on the active participation of citizens through proper waste segregation at home, said officials.

The song for KSWMP was created by Bworld Corporate Solutions. To ensure maximum reach and public engagement, the anthem will be promoted extensively through Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, and social media dance challenges. The track is also available for streaming on major music platforms, including Spotify. Through this creative initiative, the KSWMP and the State government aim to turn the dream of a ‘Beautiful, waste-Free Kerala’ into a collective reality.
