For the benefit of public visiting the sub-registrar offices, the Department of Registration has built new and spacious office premises in seven locations — Karuppayoorani, Kathakinaru, Chettikulam, Podhumbu, Vilangudi, Usilampatti and Samanatham at a cost of ₹19.03 crore.

Inaugurating the new facilities, Minister for Registration and Commercial Taxes P. Moorthy said that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had announced construction of 133 new Sub Registrar Offices across different parts of the State and earmarked ₹289.57 crore. So far, the department had built 82 and opened for public use, while the remaining were under construction at multiple stages. He hoped they would be dedicated soon.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Moorthy said that from ₹10,643 crore revenue earnings to the department, it had crossed ₹ 22,700 crore in the current period. He said that for better administration and functioning, they had introduced numerous measures.
