A spotted deer succumbed to injuries after being reportedly attacked by a pack of stray dogs at Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar in Mysuru on Saturday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT A spotted deer died after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs at Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar in the city on Saturday evening. According to local residents, the deer had strayed into the residential locality when it was chased and bitten by a group of street dogs. The animal reportedly sustained injuries in the attack. On hearing the commotion, residents rushed to the spot and managed to drive the dogs away. However, the deer, which had suffered multiple bite wounds, collapsed shortly after and succumbed to its injuries. The incident occurred around 4.30 p.m. within the jurisdiction of the Mysuru South Police Station. Residents immediately alerted the Forest authorities. It is suspected that the deer may have wandered into human habitation from a nearby forested area.
