The 19th edition of the annual franchise T20 bash will now be played from March 28 to May 31. The Hindu understands that the IPL authorities have informally informed multiple stakeholders about the rejig in a bid to begin IPL 2026 over the weekend. While the IPL schedule is yet to be officially announced, the IPL franchises on the eve of the auction in Abu Dhabi last December were told about the IPL fixtures as March 26 to May 30. The detailed schedule is likely to be announced next week. The IPL governing council has delayed the announcement since it wants to avoid a clash with the West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu assembly election.
