The election of members to the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh will be conducted on February 13. A gazette notification for it was issued on January 3 by former A.P. High Court judge and Returning Officer A.V. Sesha Sai. Bar Council secretary B. Padma Latha stated in a press release that nominations had to be filed before the Bar Council secretary between January 5 and 13. The Advocate-General of the Government of A.P. would scrutinise the nominations on January 16 and 17. The list of valid nominations would be published on January 17. Those who wish to withdraw nominations could do so on January 19 and 20, and the final list of candidates would be announced on January 21. The election was being conducted as per the orders of the Supreme Court in writ petition (civil) number 1319/2023 (M. Vardhan Vs Union of India). The nomination papers could be downloaded from the Bar Council website — www.barcouncilap.org — and submitted to the Bar Council secretary from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the given dates.
