Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has exhorted the Municipal Administration department to leverage technology to ensure timely completion of different works.

Officials should utilise the latest technologies to resolve the grievances raised by residents and problems that crop up locally on the spot. The Chief Minister reviewed the functioning of the Municipal Administration department with senior officials on Friday and gave several suggestions to the officials on the steps that should be taken in the Core Urban Region.

He wanted them to lay special emphasis on sanitation and eradication of mosquito menace. Awareness should be created among residents to put the garbage in spaces earmarked for it and streetlights be given specific numbers and linked with the dashboard.

MAUD officials should be particularly focused on food safety in the core urban region. Cameras should be installed in kitchens of hotels and they should be networked with the command control centre for monitoring from time to time. Besides conducting frequent checks, steps should be taken to constitute an exclusive monitoring wing to supervise activities.

He wanted officials to explore the scope for giving ratings and certification to hotels while steps should be taken to keep in possession latest fire fighting equipment to meet emergency situations. Steps should be initiated to set up water harvesting wells at all signal junctions and circles to harvest rainwater.

Officials were directed to start pilot projects in this direction in select areas.
