Stalin inaugurated the newly built rest house for pilgrims visiting the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple on the sprawling campus on Thursday. Following the inauguration through video-conferencing facility, Temple Fit Person and Board of Trustees Chairperson Rukmini Palanivel Rajan, accompanied by trustees and HR&CE officials, lit the traditional ‘kuthuvilakku’ marking the opening ceremony on the premises. The HR&CE officials said that a total of 28 rooms had been built in the multi-storeyed building in which 278 persons can stay. The construction was started in 2023 on the vacant land owned by the temple. For the benefit of the visitors, the rooms have been designed in such a manner that as many as 3 to 20 persons (adults) can stay in the rooms in ground, first and second floor respectively.
