The investigation is in full swing to expose a suspected drug racket in north Kerala following revelations by a woman who was recently found dead under mysterious circumstances at Kaithappoyil near Thamarassery in Kozhikode district.

Police sources said the names of some suspects in the racket had been mentioned by the woman in a voice clip she reportedly sent to a youth ahead of her death. The two had been in a live-in relationship, and she sent the voice message after he did not respond to her phone call, the police added.

In the voice clip recovered by the police as part of the investigation, the woman reportedly revealed the names of two persons, including Kodi Suni, one of the convicts in the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T. P. Chandrasekharan. She was also reportedly heard threatening her partner in the message, saying she would reveal details of other members of the alleged drug trafficking gang.

It was on December 31, 2025, that the 34-year-old woman, identified as Husna, was found dead in her flat at Kaithappoyil. She had reportedly been living with her new partner for the past eight months.

The police launched an investigation after her family alleged suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. They claimed the woman was found dead within a few hours of sending them a voice message in which she had allegedly revealed her plan to return home at the earliest.

Meanwhile, police sources said statements from more persons who had been in touch with the woman’s partner would be recorded as part of the continuing investigation. They added that the call detail records of some suspected persons would be collected soon for further verification.
