A total of 35,818 students have registered to appear for the second PUC examinations commencing on Saturday across the district. Of the total candidates, 32,835 are fresh students, 2,194 are repeaters, 773 private candidates, and 16 students seeking to improve their scores. The examinations will be conducted at 51 centres in the district, including 28 in Mysuru city alone. The remaining centres are located in H.D. Kote taluk (3), Periyapatna (4), T. Narasipura (4), K.R. Nagar (3), Nanjangud (5) and Hunsur (4), according to officials. The district administration has put in place elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations. Officials have been directed to ensure that all basic infrastructure and essential facilities are in place at every centre. At a recent preparatory meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. P. Shivaraju instructed officials to create a student-friendly atmosphere at examination centres. He emphasised that no confusion or inconvenience should arise during the examinations, which will continue until March 17.
