K. Stalin on Friday (February 27, 2026) inspected the Thanthai Periyar Library and Science Centre, which is likely to be named Periyar Arivulagam, being built at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore at Gandhipuram in Coimbatore. The centre is coming up on 6.98 acres of land belonging to the Coimbatore Central Prison. The proposed structure has a built-up area of 1.98 lakh square feet with a ground floor and seven floors. The Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone on November 6, 2024.
