A view of the Dark Sky Park at Kolli Hills in Namakkal district. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT The Dark Sky Park that was constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore was inaugurated at Kolli Hills in Namakkal district on Friday. To create awareness about the light pollution and nocturnal birds and animals and to attract astrophotographers, researchers, environmentalists, and nature enthusiasts across the globe to witness unspoiled night sky, the Forest Department constructed the park at Ariyur Solai. The construction works were completed in January this year and on Friday, Forest Minister R.S. Rajakannappan inaugurated the park through video conferencing.
