Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Director General of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) against the alleged vulgar and defamatory social media post targeting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing the media at the party central office, Polit Bureau member Varla Ramiah and Guntur MLA Naseer Ahmed accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of orchestrating a malicious campaign to tarnish the Chief Minister’s image.

The complaint pertains to a post by YSRCP supporter Dhamu Reddy that allegedly drew objectionable comparisons involving the Chief Minister.

TDP leaders alleged that YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, party general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, and social media in-charge Sajjala Bhargava Reddy were behind a conspiracy to defame the Chief Minister and create unrest.

Mr. Ramiah said they submitted evidence to the CID and were assured of a thorough probe. Mr. Naseer Ahmed condemned the alleged campaign as irresponsible and defamatory. The TDP leaders demanded strict action against those responsible and expressed confidence that the investigation would uphold justice.
