Ananthasagaram Tahsildar suspended over sexual harassment complaint

The Tahsildar of Ananthasagaram in SPSR Nellore district has been suspended after a woman employee accused him of sexual harassment at workplace. District Collector Himanshu Shukla issued the suspension orders here on Thursday (February 26) evening.

According to the order, the Tahsildar had indulged in derogatory verbal conduct of sexual nature, including sexual harassment of woman at workplace. She complained to Atmakur Revenue Development Officer (RDO) on February 2, 2026.

Based on the RDO report, a local complaint committee was formed for an inquiry. During the probe, the allegations levelled by the woman were proved and the committee opined that the officer had behaved negligently, irresponsibly and not done his legitimate duties.

Taking discipinary proceedings against the accused official, the Collector placed him under suspension as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) (POSH) Act, 2013.
