Four from Kerala killed in road accident near Madinah

Four members of a family from Vellila near Manjeri in the district were killed and three children seriously injured in a road crash near Madinah in Saudi Arabia on Saturday (January 3, 2025) evening. The deceased were identified as Abdul Jaleel N.K., 52, his mother Maimoonath K., 73, wife Thasna T., 40, and son Aadil, 13.

Jaleel’s daughters Aysha, 15, Hadiya, 9, and Noora, 7, were admitted to different hospitals in Madinah.

The accident occurred while the family was returning after visiting Madinah. Their car collided with a truck on the highway, around 100 km from the city. Jaleel and three others died on the spot.

His daughter Aysha was admitted to King Fahd Hospital, Madinah, and other daughters Hadiya and Noora were admitted to Saudi German Hospital Al-Madinah Almonawara.

Jaleel was employed in Jeddah and his family joined him recently. The family had performed Umrah at Makkah and was on a spiritual visit to Madinah.

Officials of the Kerala Muslim Cultural Committee (KMCC) said efforts were being expedited to complete the formalities and bring the bodies back home.
