Roads that were dug up for laying pipes and constructing manholes in Tirunelveli have not been relaid. | Photo Credit: File Picture With the official machinery not at all worried about the badly damaged roads of Tirunelveli City, mainly due to indefinitely dragging underground drainage work, the motorists, especially bike riders, women and the senior citizens are forced to travel along the stretches posing serious threat to their life. Even though a few thousand students and hundreds of vehicles, including buses and trucks, are using the roads connecting Palayamkottai Police Station and St. John’s College and the road between Samathanapuram Junction and North High Ground Road via St. John’s College everyday, no step has been taken to even temporarily repair these roads to make it motorable.
