Former Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarappa has alleged that the criminal activities by anti-nationals increased in Karnataka as the Congress government in the state had died.

Speaking to press persons in Shivamogga on Thursday, Mr. Eshwarappa said the leaders of the Congress party, ruling the state, had been busy craving for power. There had been a queue of leaders to become the CM of the state, leaving the administration collapsed. “The number of murders, stone pelting and assaults are being reported from different cities of the state. There has been no control on the sale of ganja. Recently, we came to know drug factories being active,” he alleged.

Referring to the recent murder of a schoolboy in Shivamogga, he wanted to know what would have been the response of the CM if someone from his family had been murdered. “The innocents are being tortured. The State Government has failed to control crimes,” he remarked.

Further, he alleged that the Congress party high command had remained mute to the developments over the change in the leadership in the state. “I don’t know if the Congress high command is alive. I wish both the CM and DCM stage a dharna in front of the Vidhana Soudha, and put pressure on the party high command to clarify the confusion over the change in leadership,” he opined.
