The bomb detection and disposal squad conducted an extensive safety inspection at the Kozhikode Medical College following an alleged bomb threat on Thursday.

Police sources said the threat was received in the form of an email to the medical college Principal. It was the second such incident within two months. The latest communication, which was found to be a hoax, was sent from the same email address used for the first incident.

Police sources said both the incidents, including a few other similar incidents reported from other parts of the State, were under the investigation of a special squad.
