The farmers staged a protest in front of the Collectorate and raised slogans urging the authorities to look into their demands. The meeting was presided over by District Revenue Officer R. Jeyabharathi. The farmers said that so far no clear explanation had been given on the blast-like sound and tremors being felt in the various parts of the district. Earlier, the authorities had said inspections would be carried out and a report would be issued in this regard soon.
