Sivaraj, senior consultant, Department of Internal Medicine, who heads Swayam. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement MGM Healthcare has launched ‘Swayam’, a multidisciplinary geriatric programme in Chennai built on a structured continuity-of-care model, along with a dedicated helpline for senior citizens. The programme is centred on a comprehensive geriatric assessment that evaluates medical, functional, psychological, cognitive and social health. It integrates outpatient services, dedicated in-patient wards including senior-friendly intensive care units, and hospital-to-home care through visits, remote monitoring and follow-up services. A senior helpline (044-42004222) has been introduced to assist elderly patients and their families.
