The Andhra Pradesh government is fast-tracking the Re-Survey 2.0 and pushing forward reforms to boost clean energy projects, aiming to resolve land disputes efficiently and generate employment, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad informed the Legilsative Assembly on Thursday.

Mr. Satya Prasad, responding to a question by TDP MLA Gali Bhanu Prakash regarding the re-survey exercise, said that the previous YSRCP government’s hasty execution of the re-survey had led to multiple errors.

During Gram Sabha meetings, around 2.79 lakh complaints were received regarding discrepancies. The current government has resolved 98% of these issues, he said.

Additionally, under the Joint LPAM (Land Parcel and Management) system, about 7.5 lakh problems were identified, of which 2.98 lakh issues have already been addressed. So far, 19 lakh pattadar passbooks have been distributed across the State, and another 14 lakh passbooks are scheduled for distribution once the re-survey is completed.

The Minister emphasised that the coalition government is conducting Re-Survey 2.0 efficiently, extending the process from 135 days under the previous administration to 223 days currently. The re-survey has been completed in 7,926 villages, while it continues in 2,998 villages.

Meanwhile, the Assembly approved the amendments to the Assigned Lands Act, allowing assigned lands to be leased for clean energy projects.

Mr. Satya Prasad stated that leased lands would generate ₹31,000 per acre per year, with a provision to increase by up to 5% every two years. The move aims to facilitate clean energy development, considered crucial for industrial growth in the State.

The Minister clarified that lands would only be leased with the consent of assigned landholders, providing them a stable and additional source of income. The amendment is expected to pave the way for clean energy projects worth ₹10 lakh crore, potentially creating employment for 7.5 lakh people across Andhra Pradesh, the Minister said.
