Eluru District Collector K. Vetri Selvi conducted a surprise inspection of the Akshaya Patra food preparation centre near TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Denduluru on Thursday. She directed the management and kitchen staff to ensure that high-quality, tasty meals were supplied to Anna Canteens on time so that the poor and underprivileged are fully satisfied.

Ms. Vetri Selvi emphasised that the State government was implementing the scheme at just ₹5 per meal, ensuring nutritious and quality food for the needy. All washing and serving areas, utensils, machinery, and food preparation processes must remain clean at all times. Staff must wear gloves and head caps, and raw materials such as rice, vegetables, and daily essentials must be fresh and of high quality.

The Collector also stressed that meals should be delivered hot and on time, with strict adherence to the menu and sanitation standards inside and around the centre. Adequate facilities for washing hands and utensils, as well as continuous monitoring of drinking water quality, were also highlighted.

According to the Akshaya Patra manager V. Raja, the centre supplies meals for 15 Anna Canteens across Eluru, Jangareddigudem, Tanuku, Nidamarru, Palakollu, Narasapuram, Bhimavaram, and Tadepalligudem, providing three meals a day.

Deputy Tahsildar A. Srinivas Rao, Deputy Mandal Parishad Development Officer (DYMPDO) B. Ashirvadam, AO M. Bhimaraju, Gram Panchayat Secretary N. Gayatri Devi, and others were present.
