Right from Pongal, the cadres are on a promotional spree with hot boxes being distributed to various households for the festivities. Now, with the temperature slowly rising, figuratively and literally, at Oddanchatram the cadres have started distributing parasols for vendors. In a few weeks time, roads in the municipality that are chock-a-block with vendors will be shaded with parasols painted in DMK colours. These high-visibility umbrellas are walking billboards for the party and bear pictures of M. K. Stalin, Udhayanidhi Stalin, R. Sakkarapani and I. Periyasamy. Of practical utility, it will protect the vendors from the blazing sun and cadres feel that it is an easy promotional tool that also has practical use.
