‘Silambu’- a Belgian Malinois – which was inducted into the Tiruchi City Police Detective Dog Squad recently. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement One-year-and-two month old ‘Silambu’ has been inducted into the Detective Dog Squad of the Tiruchi City Police for detecting narcotic substances. Belonging to the Belgian Malinois breed, ‘Silambu’ underwent six-month training at the Detective Dog Training Centre of the Tamil Nadu State Police in Coimbatore. Prior to being sent for specialised training in Coimbatore, ‘Silambu’ underwent basic training at the Detective Dog Squad at K.K. Nagar here for three months. This is for the first time that the Tiruchi City Police Detective Dog Squad has a Belgian Malinois breed.
