Satheesan on Thursday (February 26, 2026) dismissed allegations that Health Minister Veena George was attacked by KSU activists. Speaking to the media, Mr. Satheesan said claims that the Minister was assaulted at the Kannur railway station were “nothing more than drama.” He added that KSU activists “did not come close to the Minister” and the railway police investigation found no evidence of any attack. According to him, the alleged injury on the Minister’s hand is visible in photographs from events held a day earlier. He further said that, in the absence of eyewitnesses, the Speaker should not have become “part of such a conspiracy.” “The Speaker’s comments ignore facts and reduce him to behaving like a former SFI member,” he said. Seeks case against M.V. Govindan The Opposition Leader also criticised CPI(M) state secretary M. V. Govindan, accusing him of “spreading the blatant lie” that KSU activists pushed and pulled the Minister’s arms and neck to provoke party workers into violence. He demanded that a case be filed against Mr. Govindan. “The police action of filing an attempted murder case against activists who merely displayed black flags is an overreach. Such moves are being used to divert public anger against the government,” he said. He further claimed that the LDF, “frustrated over the failure of three rallies it had organised”, was now attempting to sabotage the Statewide rally led by him. “Spreading the false narrative that Minister Veena George was attacked is part of that effort,” he added.
