The State government has placed Municipal Commissioner of Srikakulam Municipal Corporation H.D. Kurma Rao under suspension with immediate effect from Wednesday (February 25), in connection with the suspected diarrhoea outbreak. In an order issued on Wednesday, Principal Secretary to Government S. Suresh Kumar said the action was taken following findings of gross negligence, lack of devotion to duty and disobedience of instructions from superiors.
