Man sentenced to 40 years imprisonment for sexual assault of minor girl in Erode

The Fast Track Mahila Court in Erode, on Wednesday (February 25, 2026), sentenced a 36-year-old daily wage worker to 40 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl and impregnating her in 2021.

According to the prosecution, the 15-year-old girl lived near the house of the accused, E. Anburose. In January 2021, when her parents had left for work, the accused entered her house on the pretext of asking for food, threatened her and sexually assaulted her. He warned her not to inform her parents. A week later, he assaulted her again when she was alone at home.
