In a special drive against the misuse of social media platforms by criminal and rowdy elements, police in southern districts registered 64 cases and arrested 14 persons in three days from February 22 to 24.

The primary objective was to identify and act swiftly against posts promoting group hatred, indulging in criminal intimidation threats, brandishing arms, glorifying narcotics, inciting reckless road rage, or depicting other unlawful activities, said Inspector General of Police (South Zone) Vijayendra Bidari in a statement.
