Delta farmers associations have raised loan waiver demands ahead of the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. In a statement, Sundara Vimalanathan, secretary, Tamil Nadu Cauvery Farmers Protection Association, sought waiver of loans availed by farmers on the lines of the exercise carried out by financial institutions with respect to bank loans taken by industrial/corporate institutions.
