Two minor boys, who went missing from a government residential school in Gudupalli mandal of Kuppam Assembly constituency, were traced and reunited with their families within six hours on Tuesday (February 24, 2026) late evening, thanks to a swift response from the Chittoor police.

Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi told the media here that the students of Classes 6 and 8, residents of Madanapalle village (near Kuppam), were reported missing from the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule AP BC Residential School on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). Receiving a complaint from the headmaster, a case was registered, and an intensive search operation was launched at the tri-state junction.

Deputy SP (Kuppam) Parthasarathi led special teams and conducted searches. Late in the evening, after a six-hour-long search, the boys were traced at a bus stop close to the Karnataka border. The children were later handed over to their parents at the school, the SP said.

Meanwhile, the parents thanked the SP and Deputy SP for their prompt action in tracing the children.
