The BMC has allocated ₹4248.08 crores in the budget announced for 2026-2027. The BMC will set-up astronomical laboratories in 40 more BMC schools. Work for 55 schools is completed and work to establish 279 English language lab is underway. According to BMC, on 31.03.2025 a total amount of ₹7,241.38 crore was due from the State Government to BMC including ₹5,655.30 crore for expense of primary schools and ₹1586.08 crore for expense of secondary schools.
