Leaders of various employee unions and staff members expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for announcing accident insurance and comprehensive health schemes for government employees and pensioners.

Representatives of TGO, TNGO, Revenue, Teachers’ and Pensioners’ associations, along with other employee bodies, met the Chief Minister at his residence on Tuesday and thanked him for fulfilling their long-pending demand.

They described the two schemes as historic initiatives that would leave a lasting mark in the state’s administrative history. Among those present were JAC leaders Maram Jagadishwar, Eluri Srinivasa Rao, V. Lachi Reddy and K. Ramakrishna, among others.

Mr Lachi Reddy said the government’s decision to introduce ideal health and insurance schemes that would benefit employees in multiple ways was a matter of great satisfaction. He described the extension of ₹1.20 crore accident insurance coverage to employees and pensioners as a bold and commendable step. He also welcomed the Cabinet’s approval for implementing a health scheme with a corpus fund of ₹1,056 crore.
