The Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, in collaboration with Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), will host the National Conference on Cashew 2026 on February 25 and 26 at the Central Auditorium, KAU, Thrissur.

The conference, themed “Empowering Cashew Sector: Integrating Technology, Productivity and Value Addition for Global Competitiveness,” aims to deliberate on strategic interventions to strengthen the cashew sector in India and enhance its global competitiveness.

The conference will be inaugurated by Prabhat Kumar, Horticulture Commissioner, while the Presidential Address will be delivered by B. Ashok, Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Agricultural University.

Experts, entrepreneurs, scientists and policymakers from across the country are expected to participate in these deliberations.

The conference is envisaged as a national platform bringing together policymakers, researchers, processors, entrepreneurs, farmer producer organisations and cooperatives to discuss technological innovations, production enhancement strategies, market linkages and policy frameworks. It also seeks to reaffirm the government’s commitment to strengthening the horticulture sector through research, extension and industry collaboration, accoring to a press release from the KAU.
