HYDERABAD Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy slammed Karimnagar MP and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, accusing him of stirring communal sentiments and attempting to revive the BJP’s presence in Hyderabad through divisive politics. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he found fault with the Minister for bringing corporators who won in the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation to the Bhagyalakshmi temple. He claimed that despite inciting religious tensions in Karimnagar, the BJP failed to secure a majority in the municipal polls. The MP further said that Mr. Sanjay has no right to speak against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he previously carried Amit Shah’s sandals during the Union Home Minister’s visit to Hyderabad. Mr. Kiran Reddy urged the Union Minister to clarify how much financial support the Centre would extend for Telangana’s development. He added that Mr. Revanth Reddy has been making multiple trips to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking support for major projects. Stating that Telangana voters had given the BJP eight Lok Sabha seats, he said that the party should ensure tangible benefits for the State. Counters KTR In a separate attack, Mr. Kiran Reddy responded to the remarks made by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, stating that there was no need for KTR to lecture the CM or DGP about law enforcement. He said that KTR’s references to the Red Book and the Khaki Book were unnecessary, asserting that the Khaki Book will be there forever. He accused the BRS government of misusing police powers. The MP cited comments made by K. Kavitha, who had earlier alleged that her husband’s phone was tapped during the BRS regime.
