Maharani Women’s Arts College received ten new classrooms along with 23 computers, tables and chairs for the benefit of specially-abled students. The handing-over ceremony was held in the presence of Chamaraja MLA K. Harish Gowda. During the College Development Committee (CDC) meeting held on February 19, the teaching staff and students highlighted the shortage of classrooms to the MLA. Responding to their concerns, he directed Karnataka Housing Board Assistant Executive Engineer Krishnappa, who was present at the meeting, to take immediate steps to hand over the completed rooms in the new building. Accordingly, on Tuesday, ten completed classrooms out of the total 24 rooms being constructed in the new building at an estimated cost of ₹14 crore were officially handed over to the college Principal, Dr. Anita, by the engineers of the Karnataka Housing Board. On the same occasion, 23 computers along with tables and chairs, sanctioned under the 5% allocation of the Disabled Community Programme of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), were distributed for the use of specially-abled students. The equipment was handed over to the Principal in the presence of MCC Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kusumakumari. Among those present were MCC ADC Kusumakumari, Karnataka Housing Board Assistant executive engineer Krishnappa, Principal Dr. Anita, teaching staff, CDP members, and others were present.
