A workshop on pest and disease management in mango crop was organised by the Department of Horticulture for mango growers here on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). The workshop sought to address the gaps in pest and disease management, that affected mango production the previous year. Krishnagiri district has a total area of 1,02,000 acres under horiticultural crops that include fruits, vegetables, flowers and scented flowers. Of this, over 32,270 acre is under mango cultivation with a production of 3.20 mts of mangoes. Of the total production, over 2.10 lakh mts goes into mango pulp production through a well established pulp industry chain in Krishnagiri.
