HYDERABAD Labour and Employment Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has responded positively to the proposal of allotting land for the construction of a new ESI hospital at Shamshabad. Delivering the keynote address at the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Foundation Day celebrations at the Sanathnagar ESI Hospital on Tuesday, Mr. Vivek said that the ESI Corporation was established with the farsighted vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He emphasized that doctors must instill confidence in patients in addition to providing medical treatment. While government hospitals often face criticism, he noted that there have been very few complaints regarding the services offered by ESI hospitals. He reiterated that the Chief Minister had responded positively to the proposal for land allotment for the new Shamshabad ESI hospital. Referring to healthcare developments in the districts, the Minister said the ESI Hospital in Chennur, which began with 50 beds, is now functioning at full capacity. He also stated that when the proposed cancellation of 18 ESIC dispensaries came to his notice, the matter was discussed in the Cabinet, which subsequently decided to proceed with their construction. Mr. Vivek described the successful conduct of organ transplantation surgeries at the ESI Hospital as a significant milestone and extended his appreciation to all organ donors.
