For the past few months, sinkholes have been found on Ambattur Karukku Main Road due to damage of the underground sewage pipeline. Residents alleged that each time a cave-in occurred, only temporary repairs were carried out. The incident on Monday led to traffic congestion in the area and caused inconvenience to motorists. Motorists said the authorities have been carrying out only temporary repairs instead of providing a permanent solution. Officials who reached the spot have planned to undertake repair work on the road once again.
