Son of DMK functionary held for mowing down assistant labour inspector with his SUV

The son of a DMK functionary was arrested for mowing down an assistant labour inspector and his family member with his SUV in a road rage incident on Sunday night.

The accused, Adhithya, 20, son of Seenivasan, a former DMK councillor of Vasanth Nagar, was driving his car in Annai Aravindan Nagar, accompanied by his friends Rithik Kumar, 20, and Harish, 19, when he knocked down a two-wheeler outside a house.

The owner of the vehicle, Sivamurthy, 54, his son Kirubakaran, 34, his daughter-in law Hamsavalli, 30, and granddaughter Nilani came out of the house and got into an altercation with the accused.

Adhithya rammed his car into them, and Sivamurthy got dragged under the vehicle.

He was declared dead at the hospital, while the other three are under treatment.

Hosur police swung into action and arrested all the three accused.
