Veerappa Moily said the issue of power sharing should not become a subject of public debate. Talking about power sharing in public might create insecurities among people, thereby affecting the stability of the government, he stated. Speaking to reporters at Karkala on Monday, February 23, Mr. Moily said that while he will render suggestions when asked, MLAs and the high command should decide about the leadership and not any public debate. Adding that everyone wants to become the Chief Minister, he said that as an experienced senior party leader, he will ask all those concerned to stop talking about power sharing in public. At the same time, Mr. Moily noted that the Congress government in Karnataka has been stable and is delivering on its promises. People want the Siddaramaiah government to continue for its pro-people administration, he said, adding that love or hate between the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister is their personal matter. The senior leader pointed out that what people want is good governance. The administration is functioning smoothly, cabinet meetings are held every week, and other government programmes are being conducted regularly. Leaders should strive hard to ensure the stability of the government for the comprehensive development of the State, Mr. Moily added.
