The Business Meet for women SHGs held in Tiruppur on Monday. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement The regional-level Business Meet conducted in Tiruppur under the aegis of Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihood Mission (Mahalir Thittam) as a platform for marketing of products made by women SHGs (Self-Help Groups) witnessed signing of MoUs to the value of ₹13.73 crore. Several women SHGs from Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Erode, Dindigul, The Nilgiris and Karur districts showcased their products through 35 stalls. The products included minor millets, nursery plants, household articles, arecanut plates, traditional rice varieties, dal varieties, soap, organic bath soaps, beauty products, handicraft items, spice powders, pickles, pooja materials, carpets, natural manure, jute bags, and office materials. The buyers encompassed whole sale traders, exporters, retailers, farmer producer organisations, industries and hotels. Products of different SHGs were displayed through common stalls in very many instances, Eashwaran Project Director, Mahalir Thittam, Tiruppur, said. The Business Meet came in for appreciation from both sides, he added.
