Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Monday said that the State government was considering a ban on mobile phone for students, citing growing concern among parents over misuse. Speaking to the media, Mr. Shivakumar said that there has been sustained pressure from parents to restrict phone usage in schools. He said that the government already banned phones in government schools. “Many countries have banned mobiles in schools, and we are discussing a similar move here,” he said, adding that the proposal was under discussion.
