Intercollegiate literary fest

The PG and Research Department of English, A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women, Thoothukudi, organised an intercollegiate literary fest on tribal literature ‘VOICE 2026: Vibrations of Indigenous Culture Expressions.”

More than 190 students from over 15 colleges participated in the competitions, showcasing their talents and engaging in meaningful cultural exchange.

V.O.C. College of Education, Thoothukudi secured overall championship and first place. St. Mary’s (autonomous) bagged second place in the competitions.

National Conference

The Department of Microbiology, St. Mary’s College (autonomous), Thoothukudi organised a one -day National Conference on “Emerging Trends and Recent Advances in Life Sciences.” Rev. Sr. Jessie Fernando, principal of the college delivered the presidential address at the inaugural event.

The conference featured two in-depth technical sessions such as “Impact of TUBB4B tubulin isotype mutations associated with rare genetic disorders on microtubule dynamics.” The second session featured on the topic “Microbiome: The rhizosphere and the gut.” A total of 135 participants participated in the conference.

Talento 2k26

An intercollegiate meet for UG students “Talento 2k26” was conducted at PET Engineering college, Valliyoor. The meet aims to provide a platform to showcase talents of UG students from several colleges in and around the district.

The event featured non technical events such as connections, business quiz, solo singing and various other competitions. Over 150 students from various colleges participated in the talent programmes.

Best teacher’s award

Einstein Group of Institutions, Tirunelveli has organised the Aladi Aruna Best Teach award, at the college venue. Tamil Nadu legislative assembly speaker M. Appavu honoured 50 school teachers from Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts with shields and medals in recognition of their service. The event was held in the presence of trustees A. Ezhilvannan and A. Mathivannan.
