Congress MP from Karur S. Jothimani on Monday demanded the arrest of Bharatiya Janata Party district president Senthilnathan in a case booked against him for making ‘derogatory and disgusting remarks’ against her recently.

The police had not shown enough “speed” in arresting Senthilnathan even 10 days aftera case was registered under various provisions of the BNS on a complaint lodged by the District Congress Committee president, Ms. Jothimani said.

The MP told journalists in Karur that the police for “some reason” had not formed a special team to apprehend him.

The Karur Town police had registered a case against Senthilnathan on February 15 for making derogatory remarks allegedly against Ms. Jothimani during a demonstration organised by the BJP in Karur on February 10.
