At least six people were injured, one of them seriously, when a TGSRTC bus fell off a bridge into the dry bed of a stream at Shyampur village in the tribal heartland of Utnoor mandal of Adilabad district on Monday morning. According to sources, the accident occurred when the driver of the Asifabad-bound TGSRTC bus lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a narrow bridge near Shyampur at 7 a.m. Some six occupants of the bus, including the conductor, suffered multiple injuries in the impact of the accident. The injured persons were rushed to the government hospital in Utnoor. Around 30 passengers, mainly government employees, were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident. The locals, however, blamed the narrow bridge, devoid of crash barriers, for the accident. The TGSRTC officials visited the accident spot to ascertain the exact cause of the bus accident.
