Most of the petitions submitted by citizens at the weekly-public redressal system titled ‘Praja Darbar’ centred around the recently undertaken Master Plan revision of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), said an official release on Monday. The ‘Praja Darbar’ received 16 queries and objections, including from land owners and residents across the region. A significant majority of these complaints—10 in total—were related to the Planning Department. Presiding over the ‘Praja Darbar’, VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner N. Tej Bharath directed officials to ensure the disposal of the public grievances within a stipulated time-frame. He personally interacted with the petitioners to understand their concerns. After a detailed hearing of each case, he issued on-the-spot instructions to the heads of various departments for immediate action. “Most of these petitions were centred around the recently undertaken Master Plan revision,” the Commissioner was informed by the officials at the VMRDA.
